Unicep Packaging, Inc. installs bottling line

Contract packager responds to clients’ bottling needs

Sandpoint, Idaho—December 12, 2007 — Unicep Packaging, Inc., announces the installation of a new bottling line that allows it to serve bottling customers and additional market lines, according to General Manager Marcus Anderson.

"Capable of speeds in excess of 75 bottles per minute, the modern, automated line is highly efficient and cost effective for our bottling customers," Anderson said. "We are excited to round out our packaging capabilities in oral health care lines in addition to a variety of other markets that require bottle-filling capabilities. Those oral health care products include toothpastes, whitening gels and mouthwashes."

He added that the 12-head, automatic pressure overflow filler is designed to handle all types of rigid plastic, metal and glass containers. The filler is based on a heavy-duty stainless steel frame with positive-off, diving nozzles. Ranging from 2 ounces to 5 gallons, the filling station is ideal for filling foaming materials such as shampoos, soaps and other free-flowing products.

Installed in June 2007, the bottling line consists of: auto descrambler; auto rinser; 12-head overflow fill station (2 ounces to 5 gallons); auto capper (10-mm to 120-mm cup diameter); Enercon induction sealer; auto dosage cup station (10-mm to 60-mm cup diameter); shrink sleever with shrink tunnel (3/8-inch to 3-inch diameter container size); and a Labelette two-sided labeler (3/4-inch to 8-inch high labels, wrap around and two sided); horizontal side seal shrink wrapper (the vertical package maximum is 7.5 inches by 12 inches high, and the horizontal package maximum is 16 inches by 7.5 inches high).

Unicep Packaging, Inc. contract fills bottles and its unique, unit-dose, modified blow-fill-seal MicroDose® and Twist-Tip® vials and thermoformed VersaPak™ single-use packages with a variety of products.

Occupying a modern, FDA-registered 65,000-square-foot plant in Sandpoint, Idaho, that is ISO 9001:2000 registered, Unicep Packaging, Inc., uses pharmaceutical-grade equipment. The company started as American Dental Hygienics, specializing in manufacturing tooth-whitening gels – still a specialty today. Today it packages customer-supplied products into MicroDose® and Twist-Tip® unit-dose vials and VersaPak™ thermoform-fill-seal dispensers.

"Unicep Packaging, Inc., is expanding to better serve its customers and meet its goal of becoming a world-class contract packaging company," said John Snedden, DDS, president and CEO of Unicep, who formed the privately held company in 1991.
