Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Introduces 2-Shot Medical Molding

Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics (SGPPL) is pleased to announce their two-shot silicone-thermoplastic molding capability for medical products at MD&M East. As the first U.S. company to launch this technology for the medical market, SGPPL is reinforcing their market leading position in silicone component molding.

The "two-shot" or multi-material molding process allows two components, silicone and a TPE, that would have otherwise been manually assembled, to be molded in one operation. This two-shot process increases the medical device designer's flexibility in product design and reduces validation, assembly and logistic costs associated with two component assemblies. The addition of two-shot molding enhances Saint-Gobain’s portfolio of innovative capabilities designed to meet the most demanding needs of our customers.
