NP Medical Provides Needleless Valves and Other Fluid Access Devices to Meet the Growing Demand for Infection-Minimizing Medical Components

Clinton, Mass. NP Medical Inc., an OEM supplier of drug and fluid access devices and components to major OEM healthcare companies, is meeting the growing medical device industry demand for products that minimize infections and cross-contamination to protect both patients and healthcare professionals.

According to NP Medical Product Marketing Manager Donna L. Gasper, all NP Medical products are specifically designed to help safeguard both patient and healthcare provider. For example, the company's Pressure Activated Valve (PAV), designed to be used as a "one-way" valve for drug delivery and as an "anti-siphon" valve for pump applications, features a preloaded, normally-closed silicone diaphragm that allows flow in one direction while checking flow in the opposite direction, preventing retrograde flow. Gasper stated that the low priming valve provides stable cracking pressure for dispensing anesthetic drugs as well as for use with other IV drug delivery devices.

Gasper stated that the company's automation expertise and superior material knowledge enables it to meet and exceed medical manufacturing demands, providing consistent and precise components, on-time, to the world's leading OEM healthcare companies. According to Gasper, all NP Medical products, including a wide range of drug delivery valves and access devices to IV filtration components, are manufactured in ISO certified Class 8, 100,000 cleanrooms, under cGMP guidelines, providing complete traceability and meeting ANSI/ISO standards. NP Medical valve and filter products can be found in a wide variety of medical devices for IV infusion therapy, anesthesia applications, parenteral feeding, blood and fluid sampling and oncology therapies in such markets as cardiology, urology, oncology, anesthesiology, radiology and dialysis.

NP Medical is a wholly-owned company of Nypro Inc., a world leader in integrated plastics manufacturing solutions, operating 67 companies in 18 countries. For more information, visit www.npmedical.com.
