MedTech Announces New Facility in Costa Rica
June 2004: The MedTech Group, Inc, a leading full service contract manufacturer of medical devices and components, announces the opening of its new 25,000 square foot plant in Costa Rica. Opening is scheduled for September 2004 and the new facility will be MedTech Costa Rica, S.A.
"Our Costa Rican facility will provide clean room injection molding and assembly services to our customers in that region. Our goal is to provide our customers the highest possible level of service with the most advanced technology, at a reasonable cost", states George Blank, President of The MedTech Group. "Costa Rica has been on our radar screen for some time. While the community of healthcare customers there is small, we believe that Costa Rica will gradually develop, and we are making a strategic investment at this time.
Our manufacturing activities will be lead by George Maurer, who is being promoted from his present position as Production Manager in our Vega Baja, PR plant. George has been with our company for thirteen years, and is an expert in medical product molding and related operations."
The MedTech Group currently injection molds medical components and assembles finished medical devices in plants located in South Plainfield, NJ and Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. In addition, MedTech Design, LLC, a medical product design company, is based in Milford CT. MedTech Automation, in West Haven, CT, provides custom vision machines and surgical staple manufacturing. Mold building capabilities are provided by MedTech Precision Molds in Middlesex, NJ.
MedTech currently employs 325 people and continues to exclusively serve the medical industry with all services from product design through packaging and sterilization for both disposable and reusable medical products.
