IncisionTech Nears Completion of Major Expansion in Staunton, VA
- Tier 1 Supplier to Medical Device OEMs Invested $7+ Million and Created 28 New Jobs -

Staunton, Virginia. December 21, 2006 – In 2005, IncisionTech was established as a separate division of Specialty Blades. Building on a long history of high precision cutting and piercing components, IncisionTech is focused solely on OEM medical device applications. This enables the new business to create better patient outcomes through innovative incision technologies.

The major business expansion project has created 28 new jobs to date and includes the addition of a 28,000 ft2 IncisionTech facility on the current Specialty Blades campus. It will also enhance the growing product offering with the addition of new capabilities including:

  • new fine-cutting YAG laser technology (multi-axis)
  • new 5-axis precision grinding equipment (for maximum process flexibility)
  • new wire EDM (for highest levels of precision)
  • new laser marking system (for custom markings that differentiate components)
  • new CNC forming capability (for tube and wire product and orthopedic disposables)
  • new extreme profile grinding equipment (for profile and centerless grinding)
