Vial Access Spikes Provide Safe and Secure Fluid Transmission
BETHLEHEM, Pa., (February 2, 2005) New needle-free vial access spikes with security clips are now available from the OEM Division of B. Braun Medical Inc. The needleless vial spikes are designed to inject, aspirate or infuse fluids into and from 17-20mm vials via standard ISO Luer connection, while providing a safe and secure connection between the vial and spike.
The polycarbonate assembly is PVC free and DEHP free. The spike is fully shrouded to protect from touch contamination. The products are available sterile in blister packs or polybagged nonsterile.
The device is available with or without a bonded ULTRASITE® valve. The ULTRASITE valve reduces the potential for inadvertent needlesticks in healthcare settings. A passive component; the ULTRASITE valve does not require additional components or steps to engage the safety feature.
