Adaptive Manufacturing Technologies incorporates Linear Assembly Machine into HIV and IVD Test Kit Assembly and Packaging

Adaptive's product, the QuickLink Linear Assembly Machine Base has been used to assemble an IVD Medical Device for HIV (AIDS) Automation Project. This device is a Flow Through Style Test. This test is an assembly of a Plastic Base (injection molded impact modified styrene), an Absorbent Pad, supplied by Filtrona, a Nitrocellulose Membrane, supplied by Milipore and an Injection Molded Lid. The Test Membrane is printed with two dots, by six individual Syringe Pumps (supplied by Cavro) of .05 microliters. The case is Pad Printed with an ITW Transtech Printer. This system is a Fully Automatic Assembly Machine capable of rates to 90 kits per minute.

This Automated Assembly Machine, was linked to our Automated Packaging Machine, the QuickFormer. This is an Automatic Load Style Form Fill and Seal Machine. The webstock is formed into a four sided seal package. Desiccant on a roll is automatically fed, cut, and loaded into the package as it is formed. The rate of this system is 75 finished pouches per minute. Validation guidelines were used to insure adherence to cGMP requirements.
