Heavy-Payload Robot

A company now manufactures a new heavy-payload robot. The TX200 and TX200L are standard and long-reach, high-performance material-handling robots featuring speed, rigidity, and load capacities ranging from 100–130 kg and a maximum reach of 2194–2594 mm. The robots have six degrees of freedom, a fully enclosed structure for easy cleaning and 12.5 m/sec high-speed motion. The CS8 controller uses VAL3 programming language, with the ability to communicate via Fieldbus, Ethernet, and ModBus ports. Stäubli Robotics, Duncan, SC; 864/433-1980; www.staubli.com.

Motion-Control

A non-ball leadscrew manufacturer presents a high-load motion-control application. The VHD series is designed to limit drag and wear from high preload forces. An antibacklash assembly provides high load capacity and the highest axial and radial stiffness of any nut assembly from the company. The VHD screw does not require grease to operate, and reduces noise and dust in the workplace, according to the manufacturer. Kerk Motion Products, Hollis, NH; 603/465-7227; www.kerkmotion.com.

Small-Footprint Filler

A company’s focus on capsule-filling accuracy has led them to create a new machine. The intermittent-motion machine, when set at medium speed, fills up to 60,000 capsules per hour. Accuracy is guaranteed by vacuum-assisted vertical dosators, according to the company. Heavy-Wall PET Bottles

A new PET bottle line offers custom colors and a heavy, virtually nonsqueezable wall. Pearlessence bottles are available in six standard tones or custom colors, in rounds and cylinders in 100 ml (3.3 oz), 125 ml (4 oz), 200 ml (6.7 oz), and 240 ml (8 oz) sizes. The heavy-bottle wall offers increased shelf life and dent resistance, according to the manufacturer. The bottles’ PET material and pearlescent effects are FDA and CONEG compliant, as well as BPA free. Custom shapes and low minimums can be accommodated.
