Pharmaceutical contract packaging converter Anderson Packaging Inc. (Rockford, IL) announced the retirement of president Larry Beckmann. Beckmann has served as president of Anderson Packaging since 1980 and oversaw exponential growth and the sale of the company to AmerisourceBergen Corp. in 2003. For Beckmann’s last nine years, the company averaged more than 20% annual sales growth. In January, Anderson Packaging completed a 260,000-sq-ft, $15 million addition to accommodate future growth in the pharmaceutical packaging market.

Michael Troedel, president of Troedel & Associates Inc. (Lake Villa, IL) has been recognized with an American Society of Testing Materials (ASTM; West Conshohocken, PA) International Award of Merit and accompanying title of fellow, the highest ASTM honor for individual standards activities. The society cited Troedel “For outstanding leadership, guidance, and technical contributions to ASTM International Committee F02 on Flexible Barrier Packaging in developing and publishing global standards in support of the flexible packaging industry.” An ASTM member since 1975, Troedel is past chair of Committee F02 and acts as chair on Subcommittee F02.10 on Permeation.
Trek Inc. (Medina, NY) announced the certification of four of its sales engineers by the Electrostatic Discharge Association (ESDA) and their designation as ESD-Certified Professional–Program Manager. John Clack, Chris Lemke, Elwin Rego, and Ron Stalby represent 40% of latest class of certifications after they passed an annually offered ESDA certification exam. The quartet comprises four of the five Trek employees certified by ESDA.

Self-wound overlaminate film manufacturer Acpo Ltd. (Oak Harbor, OH) has hired David A. McSherry Sr. as its chief financial officer. McSherry has more than 20 years of experience in the pressure-sensitive industy and is a certified Lean Six Sigma master black belt. McSherry will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to evaluate opportunities for growth and expansion. Using Lean Management principles, he hopes to create sustainable value for Acpo customers. McSherry previously held managerial roles in operations, finance, quality, and engineering with other companies.
Spray and aerosol drug-delivery system manufacturer Valois Pharma (Marly-le-Roi, France) has appointed Pascal Bruna as associate director, innovation. Bruna will implement innovation strategy and focus on exploring and developing new technology platforms. This change in organizational structure is aimed at reinforcement of the organization and its teams to focus on innovation.
Light-curing adhesive manufacturer Dymax Corp. (Torrington, CT) has hired Kyle Rhodes as a medical mark et segment manager and Rob Kleinschmidt as a sales engineer. Rhodes has experience working with manufacturers in the aerospace, optical, engineering, and medical markets. He holds a BS in chemistry from Siena College and an MS in chemistry from St. Joseph’s College. Kleinschmidt previously worked with Dymax in its applications engineering and medical group departments. He holds a BGS from the University of Connecticut with a minor in business.
