Packaging products and high performance materials manufacturer Saint-Gobain Corp. (Valley Forge, PA) has named Jacques Aschenbroich president and CEO. Saint-Gobain Corp. employs more than 26,000 people at 190 plants and 150 distribution outlets. Aschenbroich succeeds Jean-Francois Phelizon, who will transfer to Saint-Gobain’s Paris headquarters as senior vice president and adviser to global CEO Pierre-Andre de Chalendar.

The Packaging Summit Expo and Conference 2008, May 13–15, 2008, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL, has annoucned a call for papers. Papers should address technological developments that help packagers innovate as well as manage global packaging. Entries must also focus on how packagers can optimize outsourcing. A proposed title, a synopsis of fewer than 300 words, and the presenter’s contact information must be submitted by November 16.

Pharmaceutical packager Cortegra (Fairfield, NJ) received ISO 9001 certification for its facilities in Fairfield, NJ; Evansville, IN; and Raleigh, NC. Cortegra met multiple requirements, including having a set of procedures that cover all key processes; the company monitors manufacturing processes to ensure quality, maintains accurate and complete records, and facilitates continual improvement.

Industrial systems manufacturer Bosch Rexroth Corp. (Hoffman Estates, IL) celebrated its 40th anniversary. The corporation was established in 1967 as Rexroth Corp., a subsidiary of German industrial products manufacturer G.L. Rexroth GmbH. Bosch Rexroth has since merged twice; first in 1976 when it was bought by Mannesmann AG (Germany) and then again in 2001 by merging with Bosch Automation Technology. Bosch Rexroth AG, its current parent company, employs 29,800 people in more han 80 countries.
