Pepperl+Fuchs

A designer and manufacturer of packaging and process automation equipment has redesigned its Web site with an emphasis on improving usability and ease of navigation. Scrolling has been minimized. The home page is clearly divided into three starting points: process automation, markets and applications, and factory automation. Each section has illustrated product and application information, news releases from that division, and literature and software downloads. Each section also links to an “Ask an Expert” feature that promises a personal response within one business day. Literature available includes a white paper on the packaging page called “Color-Blind No More: Contrast and Color Sensors Open Eyes to Packaging/Converting Applications” and a PDF brochure on the material-handling applications page called “Sensor Technology for the Material Handling Industry.” The Contact Us page provides links to ask questions and request quotes as well as to find general contact and shipping and warranty information. The page also has a “Where to Buy” feature with step-by-step instructions to locate factory automation distributors, a distributor inventory search engine, and product information.
