PACKAGING RESOURCE CENTER: Show Coverage

The Voice of the Customer

HealthPack’s conference theme addresses customer needs.

For the last 15 years, the annual conference, HealthPack, has strived to provide a communications forum for the medical device sector. This year, the two-day event will bring medical device manufacturers, package material suppliers and converters, testing labs, and other service providers together in Dallas, TX, on March 14 and 25 at the Crowne Plaza Market Center. The conference will feature tabletop exhibits and a program agenda theme, titled “The Voice of the Customer,” which targets medical device manufacturers and the companies who sell to them.

This year’s keynote speaker, James Thomas, president of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), will kick off the program on the first day with his presentation, “Meeting Healthcare Customers’ Needs through International Standards.” There will be several speakers addressing customer concerns, especially regarding what to expect of consultants and outside resources such as contract manufacturers.

Anderson Costa, CYRO Industries, will present “New Developments in Tamper-Evident Packaging,” following “New Materials” by Wanita Hlavaty of DuPont Medical and Industrial Packaging on the second day. The event will conclude with presentations on updated packaging standards, including ASTM F02 and ISO 116087.

HealthPack 2006 is produced by Innovative Technology Conferences. The company was offering discounted online registration through February 14 to help expedite late registration as tabletop exhibit space began to sell out and the conference program became final.
