Legend XE Camera
A camera system is configured in a stainless-steel enclosure that is suitable for FDA-regulated washdown environments. The Legend XE includes the Legend 550 camera, which features Texas Instruments’ DSP technology and increased memory, operating at speeds up to eight times faster than the company’s high-speed Legend 540. The Legend XE is an extreme-environment machine vision system that achieves an IP68 rating for dust, washdown, and corrosion protection. The exterior of the system has limited creases and edges, which can trap particles. The Legend XE comes with free training, free software, and free support.

In-Sight
A supplier of machine vision systems and vision sensors has expanded its family of vision sensors to include two new models. The In-Sight 5100 and the In-Sight 5400 meet IEC specifications for shock and vibration. They achieve an IP67 rating for dust and washdown protection. In addition to powerful processing, both models acquire up to 60 full frames per second. When a full image is not required, even higher speeds are possible using partial acquisition. The sensors include a full library of the company’s vision tools with powerful image processing and analysis tools.

F160
![]() |
A system combining dual cameras and high-speed processing incorporates variable-box measurement for area and defect inspection. This ensures that the optimum measurement regions are always used for inspection. The measurement region can be set to change automatically when performing inspections for objects with varying sizes, such as surface-mount components, greatly improving inspection accuracy. The system’s high speed allows 5000-item-a-minute inspection. This dramatically reduces total inspection time for complicated applications, providing time for inspections that were previously not possible. The F160 also incorporates the company’s proprietary Quest Optical Character Recognition algorithm, which means the user does not have to register characters to be identified. Quest also gives the F160 the ability to recognize many types of characters and achieve higher levels of discrimination among similar characters.
