Tolas Health Care Packaging (Feasterville, PA) is saddened to announce that its research & development manager, Thomas Mestetsky, passed away on March 15, 2004. Mestetsky worked in the packaging industry for more than 40 years. He played a major role in the development of sealant films and the formulation of heat-seal coatings for medical device packaging materials. Mestetsky’s friends at Tolas will miss him not only for his technical expertise but also for his kind and gentle nature. 

Amcor Flexibles Healthcare (Mundelein, IL) has appointed Teri Meadow as director, personal care and pharmaceutical sales. Meadow will be responsible for developing and growing Amcor’s flexible packaging sales to the personal case, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical markets in North America.

Curtis Packaging (Sandy Hook, CT) has appointed Donald Droppo Jr. as vice president of marketing. Droppo will be responsible for all corporate strategy, corporate marketing and communications, product marketing, field marketing, and sales support programs.

Axon Corp. (Raleigh, NC) has appointed George Albrecht as the new vice president of sales. His responsibilities include leading the sales group as well as making sales calls. 

The Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI; Arlington, VA) has announced two changes in staff responsibilities. Matt Croson has been appointed director of member services, and Sara Kryder has been pomoted to manager of communications. Croson has served as the company’s director of communications since he joined PMMI in 1998. Kryder joined PMMI in 2001 as the communications assistant.
