Innovative drug delivery & parenteral packaging

Packaging facilitates the precise administration of drugs.

Unit-Dose Packaging

A line of unit-dose plastic form-fill-seal containers can be used for packaging liquids, gels, lotions, creams, and semi-solids. With VersaPak, customers have a choice of film types, hundreds of product applications, a wide range of design options, unlimited decorating choices, and dozens of unit sizes. The package can be formed to duplicate full-sized signature products and designed to emphasize critical product features and unique brand identity. The packages have easy-opening tear-offs for liquid, gel, or cream products, or peel-offs for products that solidify. Sizes range from 6 to 36 mm with any fill level available within that range. Transfer Packaging

A company’s transfer packaging contains sterile, clean, ready-to-fill (SCF) prefillable syringe rubber stoppers for isolator systems. This packaging features an integrated, easy to use, validated rapid-transfer port, which securely connects to isolator transport doors. TSCF is a high-capacity packaging that will minimize operator intervention during the filling process. The company offers a variety of validated TSCF rubber formulations. Dispenser Stand

A stand allows for easy storage of a company’s prefilled dispensers. Shaped like a wagon wheel, the dispenser stand provides a solid base for standing dispensers on a countertop or other area where they can be easily handled when medication is to be administered. The oral dispensers also feature a two-piece design with no siliconized rubber in the tip, reducing the risk of choking and product contamination. They can be ordered in 3-, 5-, and 10-ml sizes in clear and amber barrels. A variety of colored plungers are available. Dispenser stands can be matched to the colored plungers. Unit-Dose Swabs

A unit-dose swab package offers an economical, convenient delivery system. The swab consists of a hermetically sealed glass ampule containing an accurately measured amount of product, a flexible plastic sleeve, an absorbent applicator tip, and a paper cap that serves both for protection and product identification. The swab comes in three standard sizes to meet varied packaging and fill volume requirements. Custom sizes and designs are also available. To activate the swab, the user reverses the cardboard sleeve and squeezes the package between the thumb and forefinger at the dot located at the center of the swab. The force applied causes the glass ampule to rupture and the contents to flow onto the applicator tip. By applying gentle pressure to the swab, the user can regulate the flow of the contents to the desired area. James Alexander, Blairstown, NJ; 908/362-9266; www.james-alexander.com
