Hal Miller, who recently stepped down as director, packaging technology, Johnson & Johnson, is now president of his own consulting firm, PACE Solutions LLC. Creo Inc. (Boston) has promoted Ken Hanulec to vice president of marketing, Creo Americas. Hanulec, who has been with the company since 1996, most recently was director of marketing for Creo Americas. In that role, he managed product marketing, marketing communications, business development, and telemarketing.

Merical Vita-Pak Inc. (Anaheim, CA) has appointed Tom Lyman sales & marketing manager. Lyman was most recently an outside sales representative for Los Angeles Chemical, where he was instrumental in increasing the company’s pharmaceutical presence. In addition, he is a past president of the Southern California chapter of the Chemical Marketing Association. 

CCL Label (Upland, CA) has promoted Robert Ryckman to director of marketing and product development for the company’s Healthcare Solutions Group. In this position, Ryckman will be responsible for developing products and expanding the Healthcare market strategy to include RFID, security products, and other initiatives for the United States and Puerto Rico.

Uhlmann (Towaco, NJ) has announced several management changes. Alexander Mayer is now manager of North American machinery sales, and has relocated from the company’s world headquarters in Germany. He will oversee new machine orders for the North American market, as well as activities with Uhlmann in Laupheim, Germany. In addition, Walter Berghahn, formerly director of sales and marketing, has been named Uhlmann’s director of business development and marketing in the United States. He will handle the company’s North America marketing function.
