Industry PeopleNational Instrument Co. (Baltimore) has appointed Terry Holinsky president of the company. Holinsky succeeds Robert Rosen and is the third person to fill the position in the company’s 50-year history. Also, Geoff Perez has been appointed western regional sales engineer.
Bruce Welt, PhD, assistant professor of packaging science, University of Florida (Gainesville), was recognized as an Undergraduate Teacher of the Year during the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences Convocation on December 5, 2003. Welt joined the faculty of the University of Florida’s Agricultural and Biological Engineering Department as an assistant
professor to help build a new undergraduate degree program in packaging science.

IntraPac (Don Mills, ON, Canada) has appointed Neal Denney to the position of vice president, new business development. Denney will be responsible for the development of new activity for all IntraPac’s business units in Costa Rica; Swedesboro, New Jersey; Harrisonburg, VA; and Plattsburg, NY.
John Bitner has joined Montesino Associates LLC as senior associate. Bitner has 20 years’ experience in the design, development, and commercialization of pharmaceutical packaging. He has held such positions as manager of package design and development at Pharmacia. Bitner is recognized for his work in designing child-resistant, senior-friendly packaging and in improving blister seal integrity and barrier performance. He has also developed open-dish environmental stress- test methodology for selecting package materials. Bitner has served as chairman of the drug and pharmaceutical packaging committee of the Institute of Packaging Professionals.
