Preparing for Shipping With Wrappers

Versatile wrappers can bundle products of all shapes and sizes.

Overwrappers
A company supplies a wide range of overwrappers to meet customers’ varying needs. The Series 3, B range, consists of four principal models capable of handling packs from 2 5/8 x 1/4 in. to 18 x 13 x 7 in. Based on the B range, the BX range offers additional specifications, such as quick-release change parts; quick access, high-level, hinged and interlocked safety guards; a cantilevered film spindle and splicing deck; and machine status panel with fault indication. SW20ARC-ST1220
An automatic right-hand-infeed sleevewrapper and tunnel is equipped with a special collation device for cylindrical products. The system collation unit can handle a variety of cylindrical products packed in 3, 6, 12, and 24 units. It is designed for easy changeover, and it takes only minutes to change between product sizes or product configurations. Side and front guides ensure that the product is contained on three sides during the process, making it suitable for the packaging of unstable product containers. The wrapper can achieve speeds of up to 25 bundles per minute, depending on product size and configuration. Dorell Equipment Inc., North Brunswick, NJ; 732/846-5995; www.dorell.com.

Falcon
A horizontal flow wrapper operates at speeds of up to 100 ppm with a single jaw. The machine is cantilevered with all mechanical transmissions behind the packing area. The 2.5-m-long infeed conveyor is complete with plastic pusher supports and easily removable plastic pushers, adjustable side guides, and product phasing on the infeed conveyor. The self-supporting, self-centering film-roll holder is suitable for a 600-mm-wide roll, with centering control. The unit features two sets of independent fin wheels. The sealing-jaw assembly has one upjaw 300 mm wide, a transverse or longitudinal sealing pattern, an inclined cutting knife and radiused anvil to ensure long life, and a safety clutch to stop the machine. Delta Automation Solutions Inc., Rogers, AR; 479/631-2210 ext. 406; www.delta-systems-inc.com.

Q-1000 Stretch Wrapper
A stretch wrapper is suitable for customers wrapping between 80 and 360 loads per day. The Q-1000 can be placed in-line with a system of conveyors or as a freestanding unit. The infeed and exit sections of a conveyor increase throughput by allowing the pallet loads to take three steps without being handled by a forktruck: The pallet load enters the wrapping area, the pallet is wrapped, and the pallet exits onto the exit conveyor. This allows a load to be placed on the machine prior to the finished one being taken off. Lantech.com, Louisville, KY; 502/267-4200; www.lantech.com.

MF910
A wrapper/bundler is designed with a balcony construction that keeps work areas separate from driving parts. The design ensures operator and product protection and allows complete accessibility to all areas for inspection, cleaning, and changeover. The MF910 can overwrap a wide variety of products with a complete six-sided wrap. It can use a variety of heat-sealing films, including cellophane, polypropylene, PVC, and others. The unit can accommodate package sizes up to 250 x 150 x 250 mm at speeds of 40 bundles per minute. Special infeed versions are available with 90% infeed or transport chains. Changeover is simple and fast and can be carried out by line operators. Marchesini Packaging, West Caldwell, NJ; 973/575-7445; mpmagent@mpmagent.com.
