Reliable Testers
Package testers ensure quality and consistency.
Q730
A blister pack tester can detect holes as small as 10 µm quickly and cleanly,
without damage. The test identifies exactly which blister pocket is leaking,
and the results are recorded in the Q730s memory. Test programs are initiated
via the menu-driven touch pad screen with results displayed on an electronic
package map. A full statistical analysis and audit trail is available via built-in
software. iTi Qualitek, Billerica, MA; 800/550-8930; www.iti-qualitek.com.
1210 Leak Locator
A trace-gas detector pinpoints leaks that are difficult or impossible to find
with soap film, dunk tanks, and other mechanical techniques. The base unit contains
the main display, the program memory, the electronics to process signals from
the handset, and pneumatics to control gas to the product. The sensor-indicator
handset offers four methods to alert the user to leakage: audible tone, vibration
in the handle, LCD numeric reading, and extra-bright flashing red LED. Uson,

TME
Solution
A high-resolution leak and flow tester features one- to four-channel concurrent
or multiple-channel sequential leak and flow testing. The Solution performs
ten separate tests including burst, occlusion, vacuum and pressure decay, crack,
and differential pressure or vacuum. Touch screen menu-driven operations allow
the operator to control the test parameters, examine statistical analysis of
results, or download data files easily. The unit is also adaptable for use with
automated assembly and test systems with a PLC or an RS-232 interface. T.M.

Vision Bottle Gauge
A vision-based dimensional measuring system is available for containers and
related products. The Vision Bottle Gauge (VBG) is a laboratory device designed
to provide accurate, repeatable measurements of routine and difficult-to-measure
container features. It is suitable for quality control inspection of newly formed
containers, incoming inspection of purchased containers, and evaluation of container
designs in the development laboratory. The VBG incorporates a high-resolution
CCD camera and backlighting systems to illuminate and view critical container
dimensions. The camera scans the profile of the container and records dimensional
values according to operator-defined parameters. AGR TopWave LLC, Butler,

2600
Seal-Strength Tester
A company provides automatic package testers for medical, pharmaceutical, food,
and industrial packaging and converting companies. The 2600 seal-strength tester
conforms to ASTM 1140-00 and performs burst and creep tests. Optional fixtures
accommodate a wide variety of packages. The patented sensing system accurately
measures true internal pressure within the package. System flexibility tests
porous and nonporous packages without complicated parameter adjustments. Test-A-Pack
Systems, Orchard Park, NJ; 716/662-0006; zynda@carltech.com.
