CARTONS Provide Secondary Containment

Outer packaging protects and carries printed information and promotional graphics.

A folding carton is created around a package insert in a proprietary process that makes the informational insert an integral part of the final package. Kangaroo Karton is designed to increase packaging-line efficiency by removing the downtime and waste associated with inventorying and inserting additional printed material. Its design gives important information high visibility and facilitates consumer access to instructions promoting patient compliance. The secondary packaging system is available in custom configurations to maximize functionality as well as line efficiency. Cadmus Healthcare Packaging, Charlotte, NC.

A manufacturer and designer of custom-printed folding cartons employs computerized presses to ensure rapid and consistent production runs, flexible scheduling, and optimized ink control. The manufacturer's structural-design department dedicates an experienced staff and a CAD system to product design. In-house color matching and technical support are available to ensure consistency of print color throughout production runs. Royal Paper Box Co., Montebello, CA.

A combination carton-and-bottle packaging design enables additional information to be presented on the product without the need for inserts, pullouts, and attachments and without additional costs. The Lingual-Twist package is a carton with an open window in one panel. A nonremovable bottle inside can itself be covered with information that is viewable when the screw-top bottle cap extending outside the carton is turned. The three other sides of the nondisposable carton can be used to carry additional use directions; precautions, standards, and regulations; text in additional languages; or such promotional features as graphics and coupons. The packaging system is compatible with nearly any type of bottle and can be used in a variety of carton-to-bottle configurations. Salani Design Inc., Park Ridge, IL.
