Bramer

MedVenture Technology Corp. (Louisville, KY) has named Kevin Bramer as its CEO, an appointment that coincided with his election to the company's board of directors. Bramer, who joined MedVenture in 1998, has served as president of the company since 2001.

Keitt
 
Sosebee

Signalife, formerly Recom Managed Systems (Greenville, SC), has named Susan Keitt as director and Alaine Sosebee as clinical manager of its cardiac services division. Keitt and Sosebee formerly headed the Holter monitoring services division of cardiac monitoring company LifeWatch (Buffalo Grove, IL), where Keitt was national director and Sosebee was national manager. Signalife reports that these appointments complete the division's management team, allowing the company to implement its plan for a full-service monitoring center.

Cytyc Corp. (Marlborough, MA) has appointed David P. Harding as its senior vice president and president of its subsidiary Cytyc International Inc. In the new role, Harding will oversee all international operations for the company, which does business in Europe, Asia, Central and South America, and Australia. Harding joined Cytyc in 2004 as vice president of marketing.

Kuntz

Medtronic Inc. (Minneapolis) has appointed Richard Kuntz, MD, as corporate senior vice president and president in charge of the company's neurological, gastroenterology and urology, and obesity management divisions. He will also serve as a member of Medtronic's executive and operating committees. Kuntz joins the company from Harvard Medical School (Boston), where he was associate professor and chief scientific officer of the Harvard Clinical Research Institute.

Abbott Spine, a business of Abbott Laboratories (Abbott Park, IL), has appointed David Floyd as its general manager in charge of U.S. business. Floyd has held executive positions with several orthopedics manufacturers, including AxioMed Spine Corp. (Beachwood, OH), Centerpulse Orthopedics Inc. (Austin, TX), OrthoLogic Corp. (Tempe, AZ), and Sulzer Orthopedics Inc. (Austin, TX).

Whiting
 
Wise

Dental product manufacturer Dentsply International Inc. (York, PA) announced that its president and chief operating officer, Thomas L. Whiting, retired at the end of 2005. Whiting, who joined the company in 1987, was appointed president and COO in January 2004. The company's executive vice president, Bret W. Wise, assumed these roles on January 1, 2006. Wise joined Dentsply in 2002 as senior vice president and chief financial officer.

Powers

HemoSense Inc. (San Jose), which manufactures blood coagulation testing systems, has appointed Richard P. Powers to its board of directors and as chair of its audit committee. Powers is currently vice president and chief financial officer of biotechnology company Corgentech Inc. (San Francisco).

CoreValve (Paris), which is developing a proprietary delivery system for percutaneous heart valve replacement, has appointed Kalathi Thyagarajan, PhD, as its vice president of regulatory affairs and quality assurance. Thyagarajan has held similar senior positions with 3F Therapeutics (Lake Forest, CA) and other cardiac implant start-ups.

MedicalCV Inc. (Inver Grove Heights, MN), a cardiac surgery device manufacturer, has appointed James E. Jeter as vice president of sales. Prior to joining MedicalCV, Jeter was a regional manager for Medtronic Inc. (Minneapolis).
