Claro Precision Engineering Adds Machining Center
With the support of a grant from a regional development agency, Claro Precision Engineering (Yorkshire, England) has invested in a high-specification five-axis vertical machining center. The purchase is part of the company’s commitment to improving its plant and machinery to keep up with more challenging work demands. Since investing in the machine, the company has received manufacturing orders for surgical instruments. The equipment is intended for tough machining applications, especially high-speed hard metal cutting. In addition to providing precise machining, it has a built-in probing system that allows for the measurement of while still in the machine. This provides improved accuracy and repeatability. The company also has a comprehensive apprentice training program in place to create a skilled and experienced workforce. It has begun training apprentices to use the machining center. Claro Precision Engineering specializes in CNC milling and turning and takes customer products and ideas from prototyping through to production and packaging.
