Amcor Makes Facility Investments

Packaging supplier Amcor (Bristol, UK; www.amcor.com) has opened a new facility in Sligo, Ireland, which replaces its former Sligo plant. To further strengthen its global network, it has also set up a medical packaging cell at its new site in Zhongshan, China. Today’s medical technology innovations are placing increasingly complex demands on packaging, and next-generation medical devices require next-generation packaging asserts the company’s business development manager, Jonathan Andrews. “Global health- care companies need global support and the flexibility to provide rollstock and converted products manufactured from the widest possible range of materials,” he said. The company will be exhibiting at MEDTEC Ireland (www.devicelink.com/expo/medtire08) and MEDTEC China (www.devicelink.com/expo/shanghai08) in September 2008.
