An automated blister line from Marchesini Group can simultaneously
thermoform and package cartons.

An automated blister line has been introduced by Marchesini Group. Capable of simultaneously thermoforming and packaging cartons, the compact line is divided into two sections that are each controlled by independent computers. Compliant with GMP standards, the machine was designed to offer versatility, ergonomics and efficiency. Capable of handling 300 blisters per minute and 150 cartons per minute, the Robocombi system was designed to maximise accessibility of the stations and allow for maximum visibility to facilitate cleaning. A vertical stainless-steel wall is provided to separate the mechanical components from the work area.
The machine’s feeding unit is enclosed within a removable box. Since operators do not have to disassemble the individual parts, they can substitute the box with an additional one that can be configured for another product. Forming, film unwinding and positioning and the film cooling plates are controlled by brushless motors. The cartoning section of the monoblock supports control operations such as carton and leaflet loading.
