MPMN

It Was 20 Years Ago Today...

Do you remember what you were doing 20 years ago? Maybe you were teasing your hair into a Mohawk while watching the LiveAid concert. Quite possibly you were banging on a friend's head yelling "Anybody in there, McFly?" after seeing Back to the Future. Or maybe you were riding in your dad's Pacer, singing along with Dire Straits' "Money for Nothing."

If you were working in the medical device industry in 1985, maybe you were excited to see the preview issue of Medical Product Manufacturing News come across your desk. Was your eye drawn to the cover product on custom extrusion of radiopaque and natural plastic tubing? Or perhaps the two new series of microminiature connectors got your attention. Then there was the robot system featuring a spherical five-axis manipulator arm with telescoping joint features.

Regardless of where you were or what you were doing in 1985, MPMN is still the industry leader in disseminating medical product news in a tabloid format. Engineers, designers, and R&D professionals look to MPMN for the latest news and trends in medical device manufacturing. After 20 years, we still strive to meet the industry's demands.

As we reach our 20th anniversary of serving medical device OEMs and suppliers, MPMN is branching out yet again with an e-newsletter. Designed to complement our print edition, the MPMN e-newsletter will give readers a snapshot of recently released products, late-breaking news, and upcoming issues.

Many trends from 1985 are now a thing of the past - we're particularly pleased that shoulder pads are now considered a fashion faux pas - but MPMN's trend of informing and educating the medical device community, whether via print or e-mail, will never go out of style. As you read through our inaugural issue of MPMN's e-newsletter, we hope you'll agree.
