Guidewire Gauging System
A laser-based gauging system for detecting possible flaws in guidewires functions at a rate of 2833 scans per second. Using a Holix laser, the Profiler can characterize the diameter and length profile of nearly any section of wire. Its data acquisition software and high-speed laser gauge enable the system to zoom in on an area as small as 0.001 in. A large number of such small points results in a high-resolution scan. The user can define templates containing multiple features, after which go/no-go tests of scanned wires can be completed. Features that are out of specification are displayed clearly.
