Nd:YAG Laser
Suited for producing small-diameter holes in metal and ceramic components, a diode-pumped solid-state Nd:YAG laser was recently launched by Lambda Physik (Fort Lauderdale, FL). The Gator 2000 reportedly can drill holes smaller than 100 µm diam.
Metering Pump
A volumetric metering pump supplied by Dalling Automation Ltd. (Huntingdon, Cambs, UK) features micrometer-controlled stroke adjustments. Precise and repeatable shot sizes can be maintained while processing liquids in a range of viscosities.
Temperature Sensors
Temperature-sensing devices manufactured by Invensys Sensor Systems, Fenwall Electronics Div. (Pawtucket, RI) are available in a range of resistance and tolerance levels. Primarily thermistor-based, the sensors are also available in thick-film, RTD, and transistor packages.
