Quick-disconnect couplings available for fluid-transfer applications

Several lines of quick-disconnect couplings are available for medical device and instrumentation fluid-transfer applications. Constructed of USP Class VI–certified materials, the MPC-series couplings come in flow-path sizes of either 0.210 or 0.290 in. for use with 1/4- and 3/8-in.-ID tubing, respectively. They can be sterilized using EtO, gamma, or autoclave methods. The MPX-series couplings are made of polycarbonate and come in a flow diameter of 0.500 in. Designed for high-volume disposable applications such as irrigation sets, tourniquets, and blood-pressure cuffs, the Nu Seal DSM-series coupling inserts have a flow diameter of 0.110 in. for use with 1/8-in.-ID tubing. Cyanoacrylate adhesive suitable for medical devices

A clear, fast-fixturing, instant cyanoacrylate adhesive offers good impact resistance and flexibility. Prism 4206 can withstand continuous temperatures of up to 250°F and will fixture in 20 to 30 seconds on most substrates including lightweight components, metal, plastics, and elastomers. The rubber-toughened cyanoacrylate is certified to USP Class VI standards and has been tested for cytotoxicity and hemolysis. The company also offers a variety of other medical-grade products such as thread-lockers, retaining compounds, and structural adhesives that can withstand multiple sterilization cycles.
