Electronics R&D company Roke Manor Research Ltd. (Romsey, Hampshire, UK) has launched a commercial generic high-voltage test facility for medical equipment manufacturers. Touted by Roke as the first of its kind, the facility offers an additional option for public and private organizations seeking to test and commission high-voltage and high-power radio-frequency equipment. The company’s new service can accommodate radio-frequency power and voltage on a large scale. It combines high-voltage isolation with screening to 18 GHz. Roke’s high-end facility targets R&D specialists who design systems that require multiple high-power amplifiers with tight synchronization demands and signal distribution complexity. The facility is also geared toward specialists with difficult high-voltage supply arrangements or energized structures subject to extreme voltages. It has two screened chambers: one for the equipment being tested and another to hold test equipment and power supplies. Tests can be controlled and progress viewed through a high-resolution camera link and optically isolated test gear. A team of trained personnel is available to assist customers using the service.
