Lupone Appointed Intelicoat President and CEO

Joe Lupone
Joe Lupone has been appointed president and CEO of InteliCoat, a manufacturer of coated papers, films and speciality substrates that specialises in coating, laminating and finishing of flexible materials. Lupone's general management background and sales and marketing leadership skills are to be used to deepen the company's penetration of its target market. Lupone formerly served as president of Reflexite Display Optics and held executive sales and marketing positions with The Allen-Bradley Company and its successor company, Rockwell Automation, where he was managing director for the UK, Ireland and the Middle East.

Endevco Appoints MEMS Business Manager

Sensing solutions company Endevco Corp. has appointed Jennifer MacDonell as MEMS business manager. MacDonell joined the company in 2004, and previously spent 13 years with Honeywell. Endevco designs and manufactures instrumentation for vibration, shock and pressure measurement.

Medical Imaging Veteran Joins Dynamic Imaging

Cliff Hults
Cliff Hults has joined Dynamic Imaging as vice president (VP) of client services and will be responsible for leading the company's implementation services and field support functions. Hults has spent the majority of his 15-year career at Konica Minolta Medical Imaging USA. Ranjan Jayanathan, who formerly held this VP client services role, has been appointed VP of systems solutions. Dynamic Imaging specialises in image and information management including filmless and paperless radiology.

Culyer and Lilford Join UK's National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence

Professor Tony Culyer and Professor Richard J. Lilford have been appointed as chairman and vice chairman, respectively, of the Research and Development Advisory Committee at NICE. Professor Culyer is currently chief scientist at the Institute for Work and Health in Toronto, Canada, where he is on leave from his home university in York, UK. He has been a persistent advocate for cost-effectiveness, evidence-informed decision-making and transparent deliberative decision-making processes. Professor Lilford is a professor of clinical epidemiology in the Department of Public Health and Epidemiology at the University of Birmingham's, UK, medical school. He has extensive experience in the fields of patient safety and methodological research.

Nonexecutive Directors to Assist in Healthcare, Environmental Concerns

SQW Group has appointed Sir Michael Lyons and Sir William Wells as nonexecutive directors. The new board members are to assist the group in its plans to develop two new business areas focused on healthcare and the environment. SQW Group owns SQW Consulting and Oxford Innovation, a leading operator of innovation centres. The company also runs a European business angel investment network and is a partner in one of the new Enterprise Capital Funds.

Bennett Assumes Adhesives Research Presidency

Geoff Bennett
Adhesives Research Inc., a developer and manufacturer of high-performance pressure-sensitive adhesives, tapes, specialty coatings, films and laminates, has promoted Geoff Bennett to the position of president. Bennett succeeds Kären M. Olson, who served as president and CEO for more than three years and who will continue as a member of the board of directors. Bennett has been with the company for 10 years, starting at its UK office, then moving to Limerick, Ireland, as president of Adhesives Research Europe, then subsequently relocating to the corporate headquarters in Glenn Rock, Pennsylvania, USA.

Gordon Named Chairman, MD, of Digital Healthcare

Digital Healthcare has appointed Jeff Gordon as chairman and managing director. The company is a supplier of software for diabetic retinal imaging that is used to detect diabetic retinopathy. Its software and electronic patient record systems are used in major community eye screening programmes across the UK, and the company is also expanding in the USA. Gordon's former senior management roles include being chairman of Unisys Europe and heading up Motorola's EMEA infrastructure business.
