Richard DeRisio is vice president of quality assurance and regulatory affairs for Kinetic Concepts Inc. (KCI; San Antonio, TX). Under his direction, KCI has built a model complaint-handling system. He has held a number of other quality and regulatory jobs in industry and has worked with a wide range of complaint management systems. He had a 10-year stint at FDA, first in the Office of Regional Affairs’ Division of Field Investigations and later in what is now the Office of Compliance at CDRH.

Nancy Singer serves as president of Compliance-Alliance Inc. (Arlington, VA), which conducts educational programs and designs benchmarking surveys relating to FDA and CMS compliance. She was previously special counsel for AdvaMed and founded and ran the Medical Technology Learning Institute. She has worked for FDLI and the Department of Justice.

Both DeRisio and Singer are members of MD&DI’s Editorial Advisory Board.
