Epoxy resin
Designed to achieve high-performance cures at low temperatures, a newly developed epoxy resin system called Master Bond EP27 addresses the difficulty of multiple epoxy resin compositions. In 6-mil thick films, EP27 will set in as little as 2 hours at only 40°F and will cure in 48 to 72 hours. Master Bond EP27 has a noncritical mix ratio of 2:1 by weight or volume and a low-mixed viscosity of only 2000 cP. The cured epoxy resin system features long-term resistance to immersion in such aggressive solvents as ethanol, toluene, butyl cellosolve, 70% sulfuric acid, 30% nitric acid, 50% sodium hydroxide, and bleaches.

Triple-color reagent
A diagnostic antibody manufacturer offers a triple-color reagent for canine veterinarians consisting of FITC, RPE, and Alexa Fluor 647 conjugated monoclonal antibodies mixed in optimal ratios. With three conjugated antibodies in one reagent, TC014 provides a cost-effective option that can be used for the simultaneous detection of CD3, CD4, and CD8. The detecting formula also utilizes clones CA17.A12, YKIX302.9, and YCATE55.9, which are also available as individual antibodies with a host of conjugates.

Antibodies and antigens
Procedures such as Western blotting and cell visualizing in microscopy assays often use GAPDH antibodies (including MAb 6C5) and antigens as a loading control for protein normalization. The new anti-GAPDH monoclonal antibodies, especially MAb 6C5, are suitable for GAPDH immunodetection in sandwich immunoassays, immunocytochemical applications, and Western blotting. The GAPDH antigen (human and rabbit) is also available.

Monoclonal antibody
Rapid screening and the evaluation of anti-inflammatory therapeutics is the target of this new monoclonal antibody kit used to generate arthritis mouse models. The ArthroMAB cocktail of four monoclonal antibodies directed against collagen, when compared with the traditional collagen-induced arthritis model, produces severe arthritis in mice within days instead of weeks. The process allows researchers to reduce treatment schedules, simplify assessment studies, and test fewer animals since the incidence of arthritis is nearly 100%.

Labeling kits
A new option for amplifying and labeling target Biotin-aRNA (also called cRNA) has been developed for use with the Illumina gene-expression system. The kit produces microgram amounts of biotin-labeled aRNA from as little as 25 ng of input total cellular RNA using a simplified, linear RNA amplification process. The Biotin-aRNA produced by the kit from 100 ng of input total RNA has been shown to detect more genes (RNA transcripts) than biotin-aRNA produced by a competitor’s kit using 400 ng of input total RNA.

Enzyme metallography reagent
A new system for supersensitive, high-resolution detection for use in in situ hybridization (ISH) and immunohistochemistry uses an enzyme-linked probe to deposit metal from solution at a target site. The process provides a dense, punctuate, high-resolution black stain, which is readily distinguished from other commonly used stains. The new detection method, Enzyme Metallography (EnzMet), is visualized in a conventional bright-field light microscope and does not require the use of fluorescent optics or dark adaptation. It provides a permanent record, with no fading or photobleaching, and can visualize single copies of even nonamplified genes.

On-demand training program
The only on-demand training program available to the medical device and in vitro diagnostics industry will feature three programs: The FDA QSR/cGMP requirements for medical device companies; Design Control: What you need to comply with FDA; and CAPA: Complaints, MDR, and Installation. Other courses are scheduled to follow, including FMEA and Internal Auditing, and one course on 510(k) programs is currently in development. Each training module includes a competency test and a serialized numbered certificate of training that will be issued upon passing the exam.

Sample dispension and homogenization
Combining sterility with safety and ease of use, a new sample homogenization and dispersion system is well suited for the collection, transportation, and processing of samples. The Dispomix contains closed disposable tubes that protect sample and environment from the moment of the collection up to the final homogenate transfer without the need for further manipulation. A septum guarantees clean liquid transfers prior to and after the processing on the Dispomix drive. The tube effectively avoids cross-contamination, aerosols, or contact with potentially infectious or toxic material.

Noninvasive level switch
An ultrasonic, reusable, clamp-on, miniature Sonic Eye level sensor with a disposable mounting tape and a peel-and-stick feature is well suited for noninvasive detection of liquid levels for chemicals, saline solutions, blood, or hazardous reagents or waste liquids. The unit detects levels or breaks in the flow of liquids or blood through capillaries in different types of flexible and rigid containers. Self-contained with sensing elements and electronics, the Sonic Eye does not come into contact with the liquid so there is no possibility of contamination or incompatibility with the various liquids. A variety of container sizes may be accommodated from 2 to 8-in. diameter and up to 0.25-in. thick with a metal, glass, or plastic container.

Creatinine reagent
The availability of a new, liquid-stable enzymatic creatinine reagent will serve as a useful clinical tool for medical laboratory professionals in a physician’s office, hospital, veterinary testing, and commercial reference laboratories. Using a multistep enzymatic approach, which is triggered by creatinine amidohydrolase, the two-part reagent system measures concentrations of creatinine in serum, urine, or plasma specimens. The assay displays virtually no significant interference effects from lipemia, homolysis, icterus, or ascorbic acid, with a vastly reduced interference profile from many non-creatinine-associated chromogens. The system is available in a variety of different packaging configurations.
