International Market Briefing
This annual meeting discussed the latest developments in world IVD markets and highlights global opportunities for IVD manufacturers.
As a value-added service to AACC Clinical Lab Expo exhibitors, AACC and Scherago International presented the 2009 International Market Briefing, a special meeting for exhibitors and special guests attending the expo. Sponsored in part by a grant from IVD Technology, this meeting was the twelfth in a series of annual briefings to acquaint exhibitors with the latest developments in world IVD markets, highlighting opportunities for small and medium-sized IVD manufacturers.
The briefing officially began at 8:00 AM with a summary of the global IVD market, including highlights from areas of the most rapid growth by market and geographic segments. After the global update, there were presentations covering India, international cooperation initiatives. and two presentations on China: the Chinese healthcare initiative and a macro view of the IVD market.
Prior to the briefing, there was a continental breakfast and an opportunity to network with the speakers. For U.S. companies, members of the U.S. Department of Commerce Healthcare Technology Team were also available.
Of the 700 executives who registered in 2008, 80% were company officers or international marketing executives. By region of residence, registration was evenly split between North America and international locations.
