Introduction to the AACC Annual Meeting

Mark your calendars now for the 2010 AACC Annual Meeting. Next year's annual meeting will be heading to Anaheim, California July 25-29, 2010 with another round of excellent speakers, sessions, and the always popular clinical lab expo.

After a three year absence, the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) held its 2009 Annual Meeting and Clinical Lab Expo in Chicago on July 19-23. The meeting included hundreds of educational sessions on a wide variety of topics. The conference portion of the meeting included five plenary sessions, symposia sessions, interactive workshops, short courses, brown bag sessions, meet the experts, Chair's invited sessions, posters, and oral abstract presentations. Attendees were able to design an education program that suits their individual professional needs.

The Clinical Lab Expo is the exhibition tradeshow aspect of the AACC Annual Meeting and the largest clinical lab exposition in the world. This year’s expo expected a record number of exhibiting companies with more than 700 exhibitors taking up more booth space than in previous years and occupying more than 1,800 booths in all areas of clinical laboratory science. The expo continued the tradition of companies launching new technologies at the annual meeting. Attendees were able to see new science, new technologies, and more new products in all areas of clinical diagnostics, automation, information systems, point-of-care, OEM, and biotech.
