Roundtable Panelists
For the roundtable presented here,
IVD Technology sought out the views of three experts in managing the development and production activities for the manufacture of IVD systems. Biographical details about the panelists are provided below:
Michael Jackson, PhD, is division R&D manager in the clinical systems division at Bio-Rad Laboratories (Hercules, CA). The clinical systems division develops, manufactures, and markets instrument systems for specialty measurements in clinical laboratories. Jackson has worked in R&D his entire career, including positions at smaller companies and midsized IVD companies. He can be reached at

Myles Marcus is vice president, strategic procurement and administrative services, at Beckman Coulter Inc. (Brea, CA). Marcus has direct responsibility for strategic procurement activities as well as oversight responsibilities for all procurement functions at Beckman Coulter. Marcus has a consistent record of reducing the cost structure while improving the quality and performance characteristics

Tim Patno is director, product development, at Nanosphere Inc. (Northbrook, IL), a nanotechnology-based molecular diagnostics company offering proprietary breakthrough technologies that provide solutions to simplify molecular diagnostic testing.
