Richard R. Miller, Jr., a staff scientist in consumables manufacturing at Dade Behring Inc. (Newark, DE), has passed away. A member of the laboratory diagnostics community for more than 30 years, he entered the IVD industry in 1978 when he joined Technicon as a scientist in the research and development organization. During the ensuing years, he held various positions at Technicon before moving to Dade Behring in 1996. He was actively involved in several professional associations, including the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC), the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI), and the American Society for Quality. He was also a longtime member of IVD Technology’s reader board and contributed articles on quality-related topics.
