  • Beckman Coulter Inc. (Fullerton, CA) has been awarded new agreements with Premier Inc. (San Diego). Premier’s 1700 member hospitals will have access to Beckman’s complete range of hemostasis systems and supplies, as well as other products.

  • Dade Behring Inc. (Deerfield, IL) and Immunalysis Corp. (Pomona, CA) signed an agreement allowing Dade to distribute four drug tests manufactured by Immunalysis. The agreement also includes a commitment between the two companies to work together in the drug-testing market.

  • KPL Inc. (Gaithersburg, MD) has been awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification for its Gaithersburg facility. The scope of the registration includes the design and manufacture of protein detection technologies, reagents and systems, and support to the company’s life science research and bioindustrial production customers worldwide.

  • Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (Coventry, UK) has been awarded Designated Operational Entity status by the Clean Development Mechanism executive board related to validation for an additional seven scopes.

  • Millipore Corp. (Billerica, MA) announced collaboration with Dr. Gerry Shaw from the University of Florida and EnCor Biotechnology Inc. (Gainesville, FL) to develop and license an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kit. This kit measures the levels of pNF-H in homogenates of tissues and samples of serum, CSF, and other bodily fluids.

  • Nanogen Inc. (San Diego) obtained a U.S. Government Service Administration (GSA) Schedule contract. The contract enables the company to be listed on an approved GSA Schedule and sell its NanoChip products directly to government agencies.

  • Rosetta Genomics Ltd. (Rehovot, Israel) presented data on its newly developed high-quality microRNA extraction protocol from blood serum. The data were presented at Cambridge Healthtech Institute’s microRNA in Human Disease and Development Conference.
