Designing for you

The redesign bolsters the editorial content without compromising its integrity

As you’ve probably noticed, IVD Technology has undergone a complete makeover and is sporting a new look from cover to cover. But why? you may ask. Well, for one thing, it’s been more than five years since the magazine was updated. But more importantly, our goal was to make this journal more useful to you, our reader. Because we know how precious your time is, we wanted to make it easier for you to find the information you have come to expect from IVD Technology. We believe this new design will improve your overall reading experience and make it more profitable and enjoyable.

If you’re wondering how this redesign may affect IVD Technology’s editorial content, don’t worry. Our style may have changed, but not our substance. Nothing we have done will compromise the magazine’s reputation as a serious and respected peer-reviewed technical journal. The same high-quality articles you’ve come to know and love will continue to appear, guaranteed! But we believe that this new format will make those articles much easier to find and read.

For example, a perennial favorite in IVD Technology is the “Commentary” column. In this column, IVD industry thought leaders write short opinion pieces on key topics affecting the IVD world. But I would not be surprised if you’ve missed a few of these articles. Until now, this column has been buried somewhere in the front of the magazine. Now, you can find it with startling ease, on the last page of the magazine—where many readers, in fact, start reading their magazines.

Where the substance of the magazine has changed, it is only for the better. The best example of this is the news section. We have always reported on the latest business, regulatory, and legal developments in the IVD industry. But now, we will provide more in-depth coverage of the dynamic changes taking place in the industry and how they could affect you. The new name for this section, “Trends & Perspectives,” reflects this—our goal to provide greater value in our news analysis.

As you can tell, we are very proud of our new format. But what do you think? I urge you to contact me directly with your comments or questions. In the meantime, I hope that you will enjoy the new look while reading the new IVD Technology.
