NotableCorrelogic Systems (Bethesda, MD) and Eclipse Diagnostics (Vacaville, CA) will both launch the first proteomics-based diagnostics later this year. Each company has developed a software-based test for detecting ovarian cancer in blood samples. Both tests use mass spectroscopy-based techniques to search for protein-specific patterns. The Eclipse test is based on the company’s BAMF technology.
The Laboratory Corporation of America (Burlington, NC) and Quest Diagnostics
(Teterboro, NJ) will initially offer testing services for the Correlogic test.
