For the RecordA recent article, "This Year in IVDs," (IVD Technology, October 2003, 14–23) stated, "Bayer Diagnostics received approval for four hepatitis B assays, all of which are available on its automated immunoassay platform, Advia Centaur." Although the assays are currently available in European, Latin American, and Asian Pacific countries, the tests have not yet received FDA approval. Bayer has applied for FDA approval, and U.S. sales will commence upon its receipt. The editors regret any implication that the tests had received FDA approval.
