At Phillips' two design development centers, programs begin with the full attention of a cross-functional team of industrial designers, mechanical designers, and project engineers who thoroughly analyze complete program parameters at the design phase. Program managers oversee the entire process, providing supply chain management not only for Phillips Plastics, but also for component procurement thereby ensuring total in-house control. In addiction, protocol development, validation, and six sigma initiatives are given thorough consideration from the beginning to ensure the highest quality standards are achieved fro each program.
Capitalizing on the success of many programs, a multitude of capabilities are available in-house to facilitate seamless project flow through including industrial design, design engineering, CAD, finite element analysis (FEA), Moldflow® analysis, rapid prototypes, models, and stereolithography. Whether low or high volume production, Phillips utilizes a lean manufacturing operational strategy, which streamlines the entire product development process, thereby improving profitability, customer satisfaction, and lead time.
Rounding out the capabilities specifically tailored to medical programs are Phillips' full sterilization selection and management services, which ensure longer life cycles, material compatibility and integrity, and increased cost-effectiveness.
