FDA Approval of TriboGlide - Silicone-Free Lubrication Systems

TriboFilm Research Inc. and its partner, IVEK Corporation are pleased to announce that TriboGlide, has received FDA approval as an alternative lubricant to silicone oil. This is a tremendous milestone for the silicone-free lubricant and the first approval is for use with all piston style syringe devices. This revolutionary coating is superior in function & chemical compatibility for many critical injectible fluids such as Insulin and biological drugs. This coating can be used on a variety of materials including elastomers, plastics, metals and glass and it is anticipated that many new applications will soon become realized. Research for development of this product was funded under multiple Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) grants sponsored by the National Institutes of Health.
