JFK and Newark Airports

AirTrain JFK Service
For those traveling lightly, the AirTrain JFK light-rail system links JFK’s passenger terminals with the New York Subway System and the Long Island Rail Road’s Jamaica Station, which connects to Penn Station. A trip between JFK and Manhattan using AirTrain and city subways is expected to take under an hour. The single-trip fare for AirTrain JFK is $5 to Jamaica Station, plus your rail/subway fare. La Guardia Airport
La Guardia, which is located 8 miles from midtown Manhattan (approximately 30 minutes by taxi, depending on traffic). Carey Transportation offers frequent service to midtown Manhattan. Call (800) 336-4646 for fare and schedule information.

AirTrain Newark Rail Service
For those traveling lightly, the AirTrain Newark Rail Service is a viable option. The AirTrain offers ground transportation between Newark Liberty International Airport and New York City. Free monorail service will run every three minutes between the airport terminals and the Newark Airport rail station. From there, trains run two - four times each hour in each direction, and the 20-minute ride to/from Penn Station in Manhattan will cost considerably less than a taxi cab ride. Penn Station
Located on 7th Avenue approximately 5 blocks from the Javits Center. Grand Central Terminal
Located at 42nd Street and Park Avenue approximately 12 blocks from the Javits Center. Complimentary MD&M East shuttle service will operate from 42nd street, west of Lexington Ave., to the Jacob K. Taxi Cabs
While taxi cabs are a convenient way to travel around Manhattan, please beware of unmarked or nonmedallion cabs. These cabs are not sanctioned by the city and should be avoided. In many cases, these cabs are not insured and the drivers may not be licensed.
