Abstract:
This presentation was developed over several years to address the needs and concerns of those focusing on driving the lean culture in their company. It presents OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) as a best practices method for monitoring and improving the effectiveness of manufacturing and continuous improvement processes.
OEE is an excellent KPI that reduces complex production problems into simple, intuitive presentation of information and provides a basis for systematically improving manufacturing processes. OEE enables manufacturers to use a root cause analysis (RCA) approach that focuses efforts on attacking the manufacturing issues that cause the greatest waste.
The presentation is organized around a sequence of topics that present key concepts: OEE background and core concepts, the inner workings of OEE including OEE Factors, the Six Big Losses, Calculating OEE, Enterprise OEE and a live OEE simulator that allows attendees to plug in their own data for discussion. Additionally, several real-world cases studies are presented to highlight successes and failures in implementing OEE and are used to augment the key points and help solidify participant’s understanding of OEE.
Free OEE training materials such as the popular OEE Pocket Guide are available for free distribution to all participants.
