MEDTEC China 2007 Opened in Shanghai Today - A Total Resource Event that Tapped the
World’s Fastest Growing Medical Device Manufacturing Market
Shanghai, China (August 28, 2007) – MEDTEC China 2007, China’s world-class medical device design and manufacturing trade fair, grandly opened today at INTEX Shanghai, China. Jointly organized by Canon Communications LLC and Shanghai CCPIT Expo Co., Ltd. with Chinese language magazine CMDM (China Medical Device Manufacturer) as the sponsor, MEDTEC China 2007 is a totally different trade fair in the way that it is not an end-user show.
Since its debut in 2005, MEDTEC China has been widely recognized as the premier sourcing platform for medical device manufacturing professionals to explore the entire spectrum of medical devices, equipment, and systems. This year, MEDTEC China has congregated over 190 leading medical OEM suppliers from 15 countries and regions showing a growth rate of 23% in show scale compared to 2006. Renowned market players include Agie Charmilles, Amcor Flexibles, Bayer, EFD, Enterprise Ireland, GE Plastics, Guangdong Only Machinery, Nypro, Sanmina, Taizhou Maider, Telesis, Tornos, Willemin Macodel, United Plastic, Zeus, and a lot more.
China’s medical device market is the fastest growing with a promising outlook. The market grows at an annual rate of 10% while the sales of the high-end medial devices rises more than 20% yearly. “China’s medical device manufacturers are working hard to improve and upgrade, and the Chinese government has set a top priority on bringing global high technology to its medical manufacturing industry—to meet its own needs and also to become a real player in the worldwide market,” said Mr. Mark Temple-Smith, Vice President, International Events, Canon Communications LLC in the speech of the opening ceremony.
The contribution of MEDTEC in China is well-recognized not only by the industry professionals but also the authority. “MEDTEC China has successfully put together the world’s foremost suppliers and innovations, bringing the innovative design concepts and cutting-edge technologies to the Chinese medical device design and manufacturing industry,” shared by Mr. Wang Lie, Vice Chairman of Shanghai CCPIT during the opening ceremony. “It can further promote our research and development to international standard and encourage win-win collaboration, ” he added.
Concurrently held with the trade fair, MEDTEC China includes a premier Conference program. Government officials, university professors, worldwide industry experts and key market leaders will share valuable insights with practical case-studies in regulations, submissions, design and materials. Notable speakers include representatives from China’s State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) and Shanghai Municipal Food & Drug Administration (SH-FDA) to discuss the latest regulatory issues in China. U.S. Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) will run a 1-day workshop to discuss the hottest topics in both Chinese and international markets. Having held the “Meet with USFDA Program” last year with overwhelming response, MEDTEC China this year continues to offer conference delegates the opportunity to have one-on-one meetings with USFDA representatives.
In addition, a two-day Suppliers’ Forum is held alongside the trade fair. World-class industry suppliers and experts will present 13 tracks of technical presentations covering the latest industry trends and innovations. The exhibition also features two special pavilions: PrecisionTec and Medical Plastics Processing, providing the full range of innovative solutions in precision technologies and medical plastics.
The Organizers were honored to have many dignitaries to officiate at the opening ceremony this morning, including distinguished guests from U.S. Consulate General Shanghai, Consulate General of Ireland, Shanghai, State Food and Drug Administration (China), U.S. Food and Drug Administration and etc.
MEDTEC China 2007 is endorsed by U.S. Commercial Service, Department of Commerce, United States of America.
