This gage was designed to measure dimensions, thickness, curvature, eccentricity, displacement, height, depth, flatness, variation, runnout, roundness, distortion, deflection, and position.

Acoustic signatures can often detect defects that can not be identified by other means, but again these are difficult to identify reliably in a noisy manufacturing environment. YXLON’s Y.CT Compact utilizes computer tomography to provide non-destructive, three-dimensional analysis. A series of X-rays are captured to determine the spatial structure of the test object. These volumes can be virtually cross-sectioned for examination and measurement of internal structures.

The test objects can have dimensions of 335 mm diameter and 30 kg. A rotary table is located between the X-ray tube and the detector and is turned 360° in small pre-defined steps. X-ray tubes are available upto 450 kV.

The line detector offers a resolution of 0.12 mm by 0.25 mm. The scan time is 15 seconds and the first CT picture is delivered in 30 seconds.
