Expanded GageWay Wireless System Debuts at Quality Expo

The expanded GageWay Wireless System will debut at Quality Expo with the following new features:

  • Mobile Modules now support gages from, CDI, Fowler, Mahr-Federal, Mitutoyo, Starrett, Sylvac and any RS-232.
  • The MiniStation remote mode for use in a fixed location (non-mobile) when RS-232 wireless connections are needed.

The GageWay Wireless System, released in October 2006, is designed for use on the factory floor, in the lab or any location where you need to connect digital or RS-232 gages and RS-232 devices to a computer through a wireless connection. In its simplest form, the GageWay Wireless System consists of a MiniStation Base unit connected to a PC receiving wireless data from a single Remote unit (Mobile Module or MiniStation Remote), or it can be as complicated as multiple Bases receiving data from dozens of Remote units.

The GageWay Wireless System has been designed to integrate with the way data collection is typically done. Measurements are collected in a work area and are sent to a local computer rather than trying to send measurements collected on the plant floor to a single location. The key features of the GageWay Wireless System include the following:

  • Supports gages from, CDI, Fowler, Mahr-Federal, Mitutoyo, Starrett, Sylvac and any other device with an RS-232 output.
  • Collect data from dozens of gages to a single base station.
  • Works with any computer that has a USB or serial port.
  • Highly visible LED user feedback.
  • User can change cable length and type for use with other gages.
  • Rugged design with hassle-free gage cable placement.
  • Systems available for mobile and fixed-based operation.
  • Easily connects to any SPC software that accepts data from gage interfaces.
  • Can be used with any computer operating system.

The primary reasons a company would use a wireless system include:

  • Elimination of cumbersome cabling issues.
  • Provides the flexibility to conveniently take the gage to what has to be measured.
  • Reduce human error by eliminating manual data recording.
MicroRidge offers measurement collection technology for today and tomorrow with their broad range of gage interface, keyboard wedge, and wireless hardware and software solutions. See us in Booth #6633.
