Horizons Quality Management System Version 2.0 Offers Excel Integration and Access to
Quality Control Data Across the Enterprise in Real Time.
Today Horizons International announces the availability of version 2.0 of the Horizons Quality Management system, a software product that integrates with DynamicsGP and Horizons Manufacturing Suite to support data collection in real time of quality control information. Version 2.0 focuses on providing excel based data exports that will speed data analysis for quality assurance purposes and will support integration with a variety of analysis tools currently used in quality assurance departments.
“It is becoming increasingly important for manufacturers to demonstrate to their customers that quality controls are being managed on a real time basis so that speedy identification of issues and prompt retrieval of source data can occur,” says Frances Ryglewicz, Director of Product Development at Horizons International, Inc. “ Our development cycle on this product brings us to market at a time of high sensitivity for global manufacturers and we believe our investment in these products and .Net technology will serve our clients well.”
Use of Excel improves data analysis and productivity with already familiar tools.
“Incorporating export to excel tools as part of core functionality means that even the smallest organization can provide quality control analysis in real time, affordably and accurately with tools the team already understands,” says Frank LoNigro, General Manager Foundry Operations Permanent Mold Division, Edelbrock. “These enhancements from Horizons focus on encouraging the use of already familiar tools, ensuring user acceptance and rapid productivity gains.”
With version 2.0 Horizons has simplified access to excel data with built in export functionality. Quality assurance staff can now execute analysis and graphing tasks with excel tools they already understand, increasing staff productivity and supporting immediate engagement in product performance improvements. Data entry transfer errors that can skew results or cause issues to be overlooked are eliminated, improving confidence and reducing the cost of providing customers with relevant data.
Supporting product safety.
Extending the basic manufacturing functionality with integrated quality control tools allows manufacturers to take proactive steps to manage the product safety concerns of their customers while fully utilizing the existing value of their business software. Manufacturing control data, such as part numbers, routings and operations, already established in the business software, are fully utilized by the Horizons Quality Management System, reducing the cost of implementing the quality system and improving the data retrieval and analysis activities. With customer, vendor and lot information already core components of the DynamicsGP and Horizons Manufacturing Suite products it becomes easier for manufacturers to promptly manage product tracking information from source to final destination.
Theatre presentations during National Manufacturing Week, Sept. 25, 26 and 27 at the Donald E Stephens Convention center, will be held at the Microsoft booth, #4209. Additional webinars will be hosted on Thursday, October 11.
Founded in 1987, Horizons International exclusively builds applications that seamlessly link to Microsoft Dynamics GP for customers in the manufacturing industry. Products from Horizons International are either written in Dexterity, the native programming language of Microsoft Dynamics GP, to provide tight seamless integration, or are written in the latest .Net technology to provide easy deployment and economical licensing. Because of this, customers need never worry about typical ‘3rd party’ software issues such as disconnected databases, and heavy licensing costs.
