About the Instructors:
Jack Hilbert, Pneumatic Conveying Consultants Jack D. Hilbert, Jr. PE is currently a consultant with Pneumatic Conveying Consultants in Allentown, PA, providing engineering, planning, conceptual studies, troubleshooting, system optimization and training services to a wide cross section of industries and applications. He has 35 years experience in the field of pneumatic conveying, bulk material handling, solids processing and environmental control. Additionally, Jack has held numerous positions in engineering, sales and marketing with several global suppliers of material handling and environmental control equipment in addition to having authored and presented numerous papers and presentations dealing with all aspects of pneumatic conveying and solids processing of materials. Jack earned his Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Todd Baker, Technical Director, Horizon Systems Since 2006, Todd Baker has been the Technical Director for Horizon Systems. In this position Todd is responsible for product development, field service and troubleshooting and test lab functions. His duties include standardization of testing methods and troubleshooting methods for customer’s systems. Currently Todd is working to reduce horsepower consumption on existing systems with new airflow control schemes. Prior to joining Horizon Systems Todd worked with Hartsaw Equipment as a Manufacturer’s Representative in the Midwestern US and MAC Equipment where he managed research and development, including the product conveying demonstration and test lab. Todd also held positions as Manager of Controls Group and Project Manager for turnkey projects during his time at MAC Equipment. Todd Smith, General Manager , K-Tron Process Group Todd W. Smith, PE is General Manager of Premier Pneumatics division of the K-Tron Process Group. He has been designing and working with pneumatic conveying and material handling systems since the early ‘80’s. He began his career at DuPont, working as a project engineer in three different plants before becoming a project manager in DuPont’s Engineering Department. Todd was the R&D and Engineering Manager at MAC Equipment, then moved to Premier Pneumatics in 1993. At Premier, he has overseen systems and application engineering for Premier’s scaling, transfer, control, and material storage systems in the Food, Plastics, Chemical, and Compounding industries. Todd has authored four technical papers, three magazine articles, and one book. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University, along with a Masters in Business Administration. Doan Pendleton, Vice President and Director of Marketing, VAC-U-MAX Information to come Brad Schultz, Product Manager, Pneumatic Conveying Systems, Magnum Systems/Smoot Brad Schultz has been in the pneumatics conveying industry for over 20 years in various positions. His experience includes Test Lab Manager and the designing and creation of two pneumatics test facilities, Technical Application Support, Regional Sales Manager and Product Manager – pneumatic conveying systems. Paul Solt, Pneumatic Conveying Consultants Paul Solt has been the Principal of Pneumatic Conveying Consultants in Allentown, Pennsylvania for the past 24 years. In this time he has also authored Pneumatic Points to Ponder and been a member of the International Freight Pipeline Society. Paul was originally employed by Fuller Co (now FLS) for 34 years, most of the time spent in research of pneumatic conveying systems. He earned his B.S in Mechanical Engineering at Lehigh University.
