Clive Nixon, Sales Manager, BS& B Safety Systems Clive Nixon is a sales manager for BS & B Pressure Safety Management providing explosion protection solutions for a wide range of industrial processes for the food, chemical, wood, and grain industries. He has 15 years experience in the field of industrial explosion protection. He holds a degree in Technical Communications from Northeastern University, and an HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Slough College of Technology Berkshire, England. He has presented seminars at past International Powder & Bulk Solids Conferences. Jef Snoeys, Explosion Protection Technology Manager, Fike Corporation Jef Snoeys has been employed by Fike Corporation since 1993, where he has coordinated the technology transfer of explosion protection techniques from the Fike Corporation US Headquarters to the European mainland. Today, Fike Europe’s explosion protection products include explosion isolation (passive and active), explosion suppression, explosion venting, flameless explosion venting and testing & consultancy services. Since 2007, Jef has been the head of the Fike Explosion Protection Technology Group focusing on new product development and establishing design concepts for protecting industrial processes. Jef’s work includes performing equipment qualification tests according to VDI and ATEX 100 at several testsites such as Ciba Geigy Switserland, FSA Germany, DMT Germany, LOM Spain, Fike Corp. US. Jef is an active working member of European Standardization Committee CEN TC 305 and the North American NFPA committee on explosion prevention and protection. He is also, Chairman of the CEN TC305 WG3 SG10 committee on flameless venting. Additionally, Jef is a consultant in dust explosion protection, providing risk assessment reports and safety audits to a wide range of industries - pharmaceutical, food and chemical - all over the world. Companies he has worked with include Dupont, Coca Cola, Ciments D’Obourg, Hercules Corp. and Danisco. He has lectured extensively and internationally on the subject and conducted many training courses, as well as authoring several articles on the topic of safety.
Brent Hindman, Sales Engineering Manager, JOA North America LLC Brent Hindman is the Sales Engineering Manager for JOA North America in Charlotte, NC. He has over 10 years experience in specification and sales for capital equipment and engineering services, which includes 4 years experience specifying and selling industrial dust and vapor collection systems to the plastics, pharmaceutical and chemical industries. Brent possesses a strong mechanical background from work as a project engineer in Manufacturing and Plant Automation (4 years). He holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Gary Johnson, Workplace Exposure Solutions LLC Gary Q. Johnson is a Chemical Engineer and consultant specializing in developing containment, industrial ventilation, and procedural solutions for workplace exposures and providing maintenance and troubleshooting training to sustain results. He has broad experience across several manufacturing processes from his 27 year tenure with Procter & Gamble and 5+ years consulting since leaving P&G. He is a frequent presenter and trainer at Powder & Bulk Solids Conferences, Powder & Bulk Engineering webinars, and Industrial Hygiene conferences around the country as well as an author of several magazine articles on containment, industrial ventilation, and combustible dust. As a member of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering team developing the second edition of the Oral Solid Dose Baseline Guide, he is a co-leader of the EH&S Chapter team. The OSD Guide will be published in 2Q08. He is also a former member of the American Conference of Government Industrial Hygienists Ventilation Committee during the time it issued the 25th and 26th editions of Industrial Ventilation, A Recommended Practice for Design, and the 1st edition of Industrial Ventilation, A Recommended Practice for Operation and Maintenance. Prior to Procter & Gamble, he served in the US Navy and was qualified in nuclear propulsion operations and in submarines.
